Press Room

Welcome, members of the media and those who are just curious. You've found our Press Room. We're keeping it simple here. You'll find links to our latest news releases, columns, photos and episodes of our West Virginia Library Network Program, "Spotlight on Health."

We welcome inquiries from reporters and members of the public. If you haven't already, please reach out to our Public Information Director. We want to ensure that you are receiving our emails about public health news in Kanawha County. We also understand that reporters sometimes just need a place to start with a clinical or environmental health story. We are here to help. Need to understand how a certain virus behaves or why some immunizations take more than one dose? Wondering how to make sense of the latest public health data you see? Our experts can help you break down complex topics for busy readers, viewers and listeners. Our medical professionals, epidemiologists and environmental health experts will work to help you make sense of complex health and science issues, but start with our Public Information Director first. She will connect you with the best source for your story or background information needs. She can also supply you with headshots and other photos as needed in this time of streamlined newsrooms. Contact her directly:

(PLEASE NOTE: We launched this website in July 2024 and transitioned only the latest releases, shows and columns from our previous site, which was plagued with technical issues. Should you need background older than what is provided here, we may be able to access it on one of our drives. Please send a detailed request to lalena.d.price@wv.gov.)
