KCHD carries most vaccines and offer them at cost with an additional small administration fee. Some insurances will cover the cost of your vaccinations, so please check with your insurance carrier to determine which vaccinations are covered. We also will bill insurance on your behalf. KCHD is a proud Vaccines for Children (VFC) program provider. VFC eliminates financial barriers for children that need immunizations. Every child up to the age of 19 will be screened for VFC eligibility. If they meet the guidelines for eligibility vaccines will be given at no cost, only a small administration fee will apply.
Travel Immunizations
Are
you planning to travel outside the United States for work or pleasure?
KCHD offers overseas travel immunizations to ensure your safety when you
travel out of the United States. Our nurses will prepare a customized
informational packet for you and counsel you on what vaccines you will
need relevant to your destination. All of our vaccines are given at
cost, and a small consultation fee and administration fee will be
charged. (Most insurance providers don't cover the cost of Travel
immunizations). You will need to schedule an appointment four weeks in
advance of travel to make certain you are protected before you reach
your destination.
Below
are breakdowns of the travel vaccinations offered by KCHD. The Routine
Travel Vaccines chart includes many vaccinations that most of us have
had as part of our childhood school immunization routines. If you have
not had these vaccines and the region or country you are planning to
visit recommends them, please do get them as soon as possible as you
will be susceptible to diseases not commonly seen in the United States.
Occupational Immunizations
Are
you or your employees at risk? The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department
offers an occupational immunization program for employers. Based upon
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations, we
will vaccinate your employees against the diseases they may be exposed
to on-the-job. This decreases your risk as an employer. All of our
vaccines are given at cost with an administration fee. We will simply
bill you once per month for vaccinations received by your employees.
Routine Immunizations
We
schedule routine immunizations by appointment. We also administer
COVID-19 and flu vaccinations on a walk-in basis as space allows.
