No person shall engage in the business of collection, removing, transporting, or disposing of the contents of a sewage tank without first obtaining a state-wide permit in the county in which the business is located.
Out-of-State sewage tank cleaners shall obtain the permit from the county where most of their business is located.
Once an application is received and fees paid, a sanitarian from Kanawha-Charleston Health Department will inspect the sewage tank and the permit issued.
All sewage tank cleaners shall keep a written record of all jobs accomplished. The record shall be on a Septic Tank Cleaner Quarterly Log and submitted to the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department quarterly.
All sewage tank cleaning equipment owners must bring their sewage removal trucks to the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department once a year for inspection in order to retain their permit.
